Hailing from Dundee the three piece rock band Fat Goth have risen from underdogs to fan favourites for rock enthusiasts who want proper meaty, ball hair rising rock from “three chums with a shared enthusiasm for interesting and entertaining rock music". They have been on Kerrang's legendary Pandora strip twice and featured in the magazine and to add to this have had stellar reviews from Rock Sound, Q, Metal Hammer, The Skinny and Drowned in Sound that are amongst those who’ve highlighted the band’s humorous, brazen style. This attention and praise led them to be nominated for a Scottish Alternative Music Award in 2013 and 2014.
“Thrilling gonzo metal” – The Guardian
«This is visceral, intelligent, misanthropic, no-holds-barred rock music» (Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland)
«Their barrel-chested rock mayhem has been missed...» (Rick Fulton, Daily Record)
Coming back after a break from the heady heights of fame and (mis)fortune their new album 'Enorme!' came out last month which has seen the band turn away from the tongue-n-cheek, don't care attitude that brought fans heavy rock music with sinister humour. Now Fat Goth's ire has turned towards the political and social mess we currently all find ourselves in. “We live in a world where sociopolitical discourse, injustice and prejudices are rife and appear to increase on a daily basis, resulting in such dire circumstances becoming ‘the norm’ and subsequent headlines being met with continual indifference and fatigue,” frontman Stewart states. They get this anger and frustration into 30 minutes of fast-paced, powerful and dynamic rock.
