Preview, Friday 26 May, 6-8pm
Fans, Vampires, Trolls, Masters brings together the work of Masters of Contemporary Art students from Edinburgh College of Art.
Running across the three spaces of Talbot Rice Gallery, the exhibition reflects concerns about the way technological and social changes are impacting upon the individual. From explorations of online trolling, the encroachment of data collection and the logic of search engines, to forgotten queer night clubs and the demise of brutalist and socialist architecture, the connecting themes of the works foreground a dialogue about the forces shaping contemporary art and culture. Including large sculptural installations, video, drawing, painting and photography, Fans, Vampires, Trolls, Masters demonstrates the diversity and ambition of practice fostered by Edinburgh College of Art.
