The Scottish Thirty Seven Group and SRPS Railtours are proud to present our second tour of the year with 37025
Travel by special train to spend an afternoon in the famous seaside resort of Blackpool.
Blackpool is famous for its 518ft tower and the Golden Mile. The station is close to the promenade and the trams which provide an ideal method of travelling along the seafront.
The route is along the West Coast Main line through the Lowther Hills over Beattock Summit, and over Shap Summit in the Lakeland Fells. The train passes the shores of Morecambe Bay and crosses the River Lune at Lancaster, before reaching Preston where it reverses for the short run to Blackpool.
The train will be hauled by two class 37 diesel locomotives including preserved 37 025 Inverness TMD.
* During the afternoon the train will run to Wigan and reverse at Farington Junction and seats may be booked for this trip (standard class only). Fares for The Farington Reverser are £20 (child £13). Passengers booking the main excursion can book on The Farington Reverser for a reduced additional fare of £10 (child £6) when booking the main excursion.
