Children deal with many distractions, temptations, overstimulation and peer pressure. Yoga is a fun, helpful tool that can have a positive impact on their resilience. Yoga can help build concentration, increase their confidence and positive self-image. Tribe kids workshops aim to share how to manage any worries or stress through breathing exercises and dynamic movement in a comfortable non competitive environment. Parents can enjoy nearby coffee shops at the Quartermile or venture further into town.
Awareness of the breath can energise kids or encourage relaxation. Focus increases, as does their breathing and lung capacity. Strengthening and energising movement will encourage coordination complementing other sports and activities. Balancing poses will promote stillness and quieting of the mind. This can help kids deal with the stress of living in a chaotic world where constant stimulation is a regular part of life.
The workshops allow us to teach kids yoga tools through games, doing poses using familiar story books for children and singing songs with big, expressive movements. Older children will love to create their own poses and yoga flows by challenging their balance and learning about the mind, muscles and other aspects of anatomy.
