«Printmaking is one of the oldest and traditional methods of art and it still excites me today! Printmaking has no limitations and after so many years you can still continue to push the boundaries of printmaking.
Specifically, this workshop will be exploring intaglio techniques.
Intaglio processes allow one to create multiples of an artwork, opening up the opportunity to experiment and push the limitations of an artwork.
The process of intaglio follows the mark makings into the surface of a Perspex/metal surface with sharp etching tools and other tools which can be used to mark the surface such as sandpaper etc. The created mark makings are then filled with an intaglio ink and once wiped off, can then be printed and pressed into paper with the application of pressure which results in your end artwork/print.»
