Boom projects present grime, graffiti, dance and parkour, reinvigorating Leith Theatre Trust's amazing venue as part of Architecture Fringe 2017.

Taking place at Leith Theatre on July 18th and 19th, the project will feature performances from a range of up and coming creatives as part of the ArchiFringe programme. Providing a showcase for their incredible talents, the Creative Riot aims to inspire and empower using creativity- offering support and exposure to those often not lucky enough to receive such an opportunity.

Musical fanfares come courtesy of Edinburgh’s thriving rap and grime scene, including creative collective 131 Northside as well as solo acts ZESH and Chris Wood. Theatrical interludes will be performed by up and coming talents Dominique Haig and Christie Russell-Brown, alongside spoken word from Ellen Renton- winner of “The Time is Now”.

Providing some high octane action, Edinburgh Parkour are on hand to noise things up and ensure the audience are kept on their toes. Dance company Mini Jackers, with choreography from the talented Ashley Jack, will showcase some of their latest work which inspires the evening's theme- «frequencies». North Edinburgh Arts's Studio Ember will be keeping the beat whilst Azad Adam’s take on graffiti is anything but expected- think projections, galaxies and a distinct lack of gravity…

The project is kindly supported by Woodside Parker Kirk Architects and Civic Soup, who are creating one-off props and staging with support from The Edinburgh Tool Library, Firstport and CGI's Official Page. Taking place in Leith Theatre’s main auditorium, the Creative Riot will breathe an exciting new life into the formerly grand theatre which last month played host to Hidden Door festival. Flow State Music will be transforming the space technically, with support from Leith Theatre Trust itself, alongside project co-ordinators Kathryn Kerr and Emily Clift.

With the specifics in place and just under a month to go, only one question remains- are you ready to riot?
