Join Anna Harty for an afternoon of backbends.
Backbends offer so many benefits including;
▪ improved spinal movement,
▪ release of shoulder and neck tension,
▪ increased digestive function
▪ postural improvement
▪ mood boosting
▪ heart opening
There is a full spectrum of backbending asanas, from bhujangasana (cobra pose) to the more advanced kapostasana (king pigeon pose). Wherever you are with your backbending practice this workshop seeks to offer scope for growth with your next step.
You DO NOT have to be super bendy to attend!
Dynamic backbends should be done when the body is warm so we shall move through a flow to heat the body and prepare the pertinent muscle groups.
I’ll then breakdown some backbends, explaining how to safely navigate entry and exit into the poses.
Props, partners and communication will aid us in our exploration of chosen asanas.
As ever, relaxation will end our practice.
All are welcome, however, pregnant mamas if you could contact prior to the workshop so I can plan suitable alternatives that would be most appreciated <3
This workshop will be held in a warm studio.
