Slugabed has released records for Ninja Tune and Planet Mu (OFFICIAL), as well as his own Activia Benz imprint. His latest longplayer, 'Inherit The Earth', marks his debut for the weirdo hip-hop and electronica enclave Anticon. It’s an apocalyptic collection — one that begins in earnest with 'Stupid Earth' and ends with 'Earth Is Gone Sorry' — but there’s so much beauty in Feldwick’s visions of decay.
He’s at a unique confluence of music scenes: he’s DJ’d at Berghain, remixed Roots Manuva’s 'Witness (1 Hope)', established the wonky end of dance music nearly a decade ago with the Donky Pitch crew in Brighton, and has accumulated praise over the years from a wide range of respected club and radio DJs including Mary Anne Hobbs, Mark Pritchard, Benji B, Laurent Garnier and Surgeon as well as Tom Ravenscroft and Huw Stevens on BBC Radio 1. Basically everyone across techno, bass and beyond has nothing but the highest praise for him.
He makes bass music of a sort, but it’s part jazz odyssey, part hip-hop beat tape, part future-pop deconstruction, part Part John Carpenter soundtrack, part post-rock adventure. Once again, he’s miles out there, mystical, astral, and yet still making music that works on the dancefloor.
Hosting this LIVE show is a real coup, we are truly honoured to be hosting such a talented artist.
