Live Music Now Scotland is delighted to present another programme of afternoon concerts in partnership with National Museums Scotland, to run during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.
Morag Brown and Lewis Powell-Reid
Traditional instrumental duo
Morag Brown and Lewis Powell draw from various folk traditions. On fiddle and bouzouki or accordion, they enjoy performing traditional Scottish and Celtic music, alongside music from Europe, the Balkans and Greece. Much of their repertoire comes from archive recordings of musicians from the 1920s onwards. Also playing at the Museum on 11 August.
The theme for this year’s Free Fringe Music programme of traditional Scottish songs and instrumental sets will be Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, tying in with the Museum’s major exhibition, “a compelling story of loyalty, loss, rebellion and retribution”.
Sat 19th & Sun 20th August, 14:00-14:40
