This is not just an excellent weekend for competitors, it’s great for spectators too and makes a fantastic family day out.
The Horse Trials is a British Eventing affiliated event where men and women from 14 years old compete together. We have 5 different levels from 80 training, the introduction level to Intermediate level where serious amateurs and professionals compete.
Gates open at 8am each day starting with the dressage, followed by the showjumping, then the thrills and spills of the cross country. All three phases are completed by all competitors on the same day and their collective scores determine placings.
When not watching the competition you can browse the trade stands and enjoy quality food and refreshments in the shopping village. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead and responsibly clean up after them (bins will be provided).
PLEASE NOTE: our King’s Gate entrance (postcode EH22 1ST) will be closed to the public from 7pm on Friday 11th August and reopening Monday 14th August at 7am. Entry to the park will be via the Town Gate entrance (EH22 2NA).
Join us and enjoy a great day out with all the family in the beautiful grounds of Dalkeith Country Park. Full information at centralscotlandhorsetrials.com. You can also follow the event on Central Scotland Horse Trials. We hope to see you here.
