Before the lovely Kirsty noodles back down south to the Ruskin Art School, it would be silly not to come and draw her long limbs (and attached body!) Her poses will focus on hands and feet, awkward angles and gestures which play on the hard lines of her naturally bony physique. I'll post some hand/foot drawing tutorials in the run-up so we're not all flummoxed, bamboozled and so on. I MIGHT even be able to rustle up a wee tutored session for beforeHAND (eh! eh!). I'll keep you posted/on your toes/etc.
Join us 7-9pm every Wednesday at our weekly life drawing sessions at Summerhall's Anatomy Lecture Theatre. It's £6 on the door, which opens at 6.45, or buy a ticket online to skip the queue, tick yourself off at the front, and get a good seat. The vibe is chilled out drawing and tunes, with chilled bevvies from the bar. Or herb tea if you like. (Brownie points for bringing a keep cup!). There are materials to buy and borrow (including boards) and we welcome all ages and stages. If you need drawing advice just ask me (Topaz) (or whoever is sitting next to you- make a new friend!) Each week we'll have our wonderful models in a lightly themed set-up: nude enough to engage simply with the figure, yet embellished enough to explore the themed approach if inspiration strikes: check out the full schedule at facebook.com/reconfigurative/events.
We also run life drawing/performance art/workshop sessions. Sometimes more, sometimes less experimental, always something new, different, surprising. Materials are included in the ticket price for these sessions, and I provide a bar (or tea station!) for additional tipples, and some nibbles to soak it all up. You can subscribe to the events to be notified of such happenings.
Looking forward to welcoming you at some nude situation soon,
Topaz and co xx
