Come along to hear from Leeann Dempster, a key leader in the service sector in Scotland, and discuss the issues and challenges that the sector faces.
Leeann began her career working for an advertising agency. She then became Chief Executive of Motherwell FC in 2009, before moving in 2014 to become Chief Executive of Hibernian FC. Since then she has faced significant challenges: overseeing the re-birth of Hibernian as a top-flight football club and establishing it on a sustainable financial basis, keeping it embedded within its local community and support base, dealing with the expectations of an invariably passionate and demanding fan-base — and of course doing so as a woman working in one of the most male-dominated sectors of society.
Leeann will give her perspective on these challenges and her views on the opportunities and difficulties for football as part of contemporary Scottish economy and society.
