Create your own Book Heart Garland and Origami Love Heart by upcycling old book pages. Using simple folding techniques, punches and rubber stamps, create romantic billets doux to keep or give away….
Rachel Hazell is back at Golden Hare Books after high demand following her Christmas workshop, this time with a special love-themed papercraft workshop! Bring your special someone for a Valentine’s treat, or surprise them on the 14th February with your origami skills! You’ll make three special paper things: a garland, origami heart and Valentine’s card.
Tickets are very limited as the workshop is small so Rachel can work with everyone individually! Our previous workshop with Rachel sold out very quickly so secure your place today. Tickets are £20 which includes materials for the evening, refreshments, a goody bag to take home and 10% discount off everything in Golden Hare Books for the day. Tickets for this event are non-refundable or exchangeable.
About Rachel Hazell…
Rachel has over 15 years of experience taking people on creative journeys. She has held creative workshops across the world – from palazzos in Venice to lighthouses in Shetland via Antarctica. Rachel builds itineraries that develop skills, as well as expand the imagination, increase creative confidence and build lasting friendships.
Drawing her inspiration from the beauty of paper, the familiarity of a well-thumbed book, shorelines, flea markets and foreign cities; Rachel launched her online e-course PaperLove in 2014 to enable people, regardless of location, to work with her to develop their creative ideas and techniques.
Rachel is regularly commissioned; her favourite projects include a two-metre high book sculpture for fashion designer Helen Storey, a window display for Conran, and her first wedding bookquet. View the Commissions gallery.
Rachel read English Literature at Edinburgh University, trained in Bookbinding at the London College of Printing and completed masters degrees in Book Art at Camberwell College of Art and Printmaking at Edinburgh College of Art.
