Please note the later start time of these sessions — 8-10pm!
Welcome to our collaboration with the #Pianodrome; weekly drop-in sessions for you Leithers! Whether experienced artist or shy beginner, come draw our beguiling performers modelling to live improvised piano (and sometimes more!). The session is untutored but help is always at hand. Seating is unreserved, doors are at 7.40pm and entry will be a donation of £6-10(+), (as much as you can afford is greatly appreciated), with BYOB and a donations bar. You can drop in and pay on the door, or pre-buy a ticket to skip the queue (yes, really) and be ticked off my list at the front.
Here's our musical schedule so far
Feb 12th: Lost Architect, Eiliv Andreas Myren Ribe and Leon Sink
Feb 19th: Paul Nesbitt (jazzy guitar) and Tim Sink (pianer)
Feb 26th: Bell lungs
March 5th: The Reverse Engineer on electronics hooked to piano
March 12th: Lizabett Russo
These sessions will support the building of the incredible #pianodrome project, a 100 seater ampitheatre made from 40 reclaimed pianos, housing 5 tuned pianos and 5 piano-harps. This labour of love will be installed from July til September in the Botanics, and host all manner of events from music, to poetry, to theatre, to workshops, to dance, to life drawing. Sign up the pianodrome mailing list, peruse their website and the Pianodrome Facebook page; follow them on Instagram under @sinkmusic, etc. :)
Looking forward to welcoming you,
Topaz et al xx
