This edition of Wasabi Disco see the return of Gabe Gurnsey of Factory Floor (DFA Records).
As part of Factory Floor Gabe has been the creative engine room of one of the most ferociously exciting electronic bands of the last decade, releasing albums and singles on esteemed labels such as Optimo Music, DFA and there own newly formed Heart of Data label. They're no strangers to touring and playing festivals all over the world including Pitchfork (NYC), Les Nuits (Fr), Dekmantel (Nl) and Primavera (Es) where they played with Chris Carter of 80's Industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle. Carter had previously remixed the band along with Steven Morris of fellow legends New Order — High accolades indeed!!!
As a solo artist he has remixed the likes of Tim Burgess, Grinderman and Daniel Avery (a few times!) and released the mesmeric Falling Phase. With an album and EP's due to be released later this year we are delighted to get a sneak preview of what's in store in Edinburgh's intimate sweaty rave den!
Last months guests Happy Meals were outstanding and we loved having a live act play the club for the first time since Gabe's last visit, so we are very much looking forward to this one!!!
Gabe is the real deal, drawing influences from Krautrock, Techno, Industrial and a smidgen of Disco so if you have any interest in the above you won't want to miss!
