MASSIVE NIGHTS PROUDLY PRESENT…
MICAH SCHNABEL (Two Cow Garage — Ohio, U.S.)
For the last 16 years Micah Schnabel has toured the world as one of the main songwriters for the critically acclaimed Columbus, Ohio based band Two Cow Garage.
Micah Schnabel is a beat poet who uses a guitar instead of a typewriter. Schnabel doesn’t just wear his heart on his sleeve. No, Schnabel put his heart right in front for all to see as a bright red tattoo on his throat.
When not touring the world with Two Cow Garage, Schnabel has been quietly releasing and touring with his solo material over the last 8 years. The lyrical focus and emotional range of Schnabel’s solo work has allowed him to tour with artists ranging all t...he way from Frank Turner, Lucero, and Beach Slang.
This will be Micah's first solo run of shows in the UK since the release of his brilliant record, 'Your New Norman Rockwell' in 2017, and will be one of two Scottish shows, following a performance in London as part of Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival.
VANESSA JEAN SPECKMAN (California, U.S.)
Born and raised in Northern California amongst the redwood trees and sweeping panoramic coast of the Bay Area, Vanessa Jean Speckman relocated to Columbus, Ohio to further pursue her artistic passion. She spends her time traveling and touring with and without Micah Schnabel, selling her art from her suitcase in pop-up shops, galleries and rock clubs.
MAX MITCHELL (Bike Notes/The Walking Targets — Edinburgh)
One-time frontman of the excellent and short lived band; The Walking Targets, Max now fronts Edinburgh/Manchester-based newcomers Bike Notes, featuring two Murderburgers, one Elk Gang, all awesome. This is Max's first ever acoustic show. Hold onto your hats. Nonstop bangers!
MEGAN MCCORQUODALE (Glasgow)
Megan Mccorquodale is the new Scottish punk poet. Held in high regard in the spoken word community in and around central Scotland, she is now a blistering page poet with her first collection, “What I told Frank”. Every poem hits the back of your throat like a much needed shot of whisky, each piece is an open cut of poetic beauty, tender yet brutal, open, and honest, but most of all — well crafted. This is a book for anyone who likes their poetry straight, with no mixer.
THE GREAT AWAKE — acoustic (Sydney, Australia)
Southern Sydney melodic punks The Great Awake are driven by relentless positivity. This is music for folks who like to hold their beers aloft, sing along, grin a lot and generally feel like part of something good. For house parties on hot, long nights and new friends.
The latest single, which has had an early spin on Triple J's short fast loud', comes just a year after releasing their debut album 'Reasons for Leaving', which earned a place in thepunkarchive's top 100 albums of 2016. The new single has seen the band wrap up a 5 state Australian tour and head overseas for their first international tour in Japan in 2017.
This is the first time The Great Awake will bring their big hearted Australian punk rock to the UK for a run of special acoustic shows. Let's make them feel welcome for their debut show in Scotland!
